Affinities: the rule behind every fight
Every champion has an affinity. Magic is strong against Spirit, Spirit is strong against Force, and Force is strong against Magic. Void has no strengths or weaknesses. Attacking into a weak affinity leads to weak hits that cannot land debuffs, so bring the right affinity to each boss.
Factions and alliances
Champions belong to factions, and factions group into four alliances: the Telerian League, the Gaellen Pact, The Corrupted and the Nyresan Union. Faction Wars, a key end-game mode, asks you to build a full team from a single faction, so collecting within factions pays off.

Champions grow in three ways. Level raises stats, rank raises the level cap, and ascension unlocks extra power. Use common champions as food to rank up your key ones, and spend your first resources on a small core team.
