How heroes work

Heroes lead your marches on the map and fight in the Explorer Trail. Each hero has a rarity (Rare, Epic, Legendary), a troop type they boost (infantry, rider or hunter) and skills that level with fragments. A march uses three heroes, so three well-built heroes of the right types are worth more than a dozen half-built ones.

Rules for picking your core

• Match your troop type. Decide whether you train mostly infantry, riders or hunters and pick heroes who boost that type.
• Prefer heroes you can farm. Fragments from the hero store, Explorer Trail chests and events are what level a hero. A Legendary you cannot farm stays weak.
• One leader skill, two support skills. Your march leader should have a strong first skill; the other two heroes add buffs.
• Epics first. Epic heroes are easy to farm to high ranks and carry the early and mid game while you collect Legendary fragments.

Spending fragments and badges

Fragments raise a hero's rank, badges raise skills. Spend fragments only on your core three. Spend badges on the skills you actually use: the march leader's attack skill first, then the support skills. Resist upgrading a new hero just because you unlocked one.

Where fragments come from

A simple plan

1. Pick a troop type and stick to it for the first month.
2. Choose two Epics and one Legendary that boost that type and have fragments in the store.
3. Spend every fragment and badge on those three until they are maxed.
4. Only then start a second team for the Explorer Trail and events.
