Rise of Kingdoms on PC: the official client, Mac and your account

Rise of Kingdoms plays better on a big screen. KvK fights with hundreds of marches, alliance chat during a rally and long sessions of gathering are all easier with a mouse and a monitor. Lilith has offered its own Windows client since 2022, and Macs with Apple silicon can run the game too. Here is how to set it up without risking your account.

Lilith distributes the PC version itself. On rok.lilith.com the Windows Download button points to Lilith's own download server. When we checked in November 2026, it served a Windows installer of about 86 MB named rokpc followed by a long ID, last updated in September 2026. The PC version was announced in 2022 as "available on PC via Windows and Mac OS with cross-platform functionality".

The official site lists four selling points for the PC version: "No Lags or Disconnects", "Chat as You Play", "Fluid and Convenient Gameplay" and "High-Quality Graphics".

Only download from the official siteSearching for "Rise of Kingdoms PC download" returns many unofficial pages and repackaged installers. The official client is free; there is no reason to take it from anywhere except rok.lilith.com.

The client gets updates like the mobile apps. When a new version such as 1.1.13 comes out, the phone and PC versions both need it before you can log in, so expect a short update on whichever device you open first after maintenance.

How to install and log in

  1. Bind your phone account first. In the game on your phone, open the account settings and make sure the account is linked to a login you can use on PC. Without a binding you cannot move the governor safely.
  2. Download the installer from rok.lilith.com with the Windows Download button.
  3. Run the installer and follow its steps.
  4. Log in with the same binding. Choose the same login method you linked on your phone, and the game loads your governor, kingdom and progress.
  5. Check your kingdom number and power before you do anything, to be sure you are on the right account.

Some players report that not every phone login method shows up on the PC login screen. If yours is missing, link an extra login method on your phone first; that is the safe way round.

Do not log in on PC with a login method you never bound on your phone. The game may create a brand new governor for that login instead of loading yours, and untangling two accounts is far harder than checking the binding first.

System requirements: what we know

Lilith does not publish official system requirements on rok.lilith.com, and third party sites quote numbers that contradict each other (from Windows 7 with 2 GB of RAM to Windows 10 with 8 GB or more). We are not going to repeat guesses. What is safe to say:

  • Windows is the only computer platform the official site offers a client for, apart from Apple silicon Macs through the Mac App Store.
  • Free disk space for the full game. The installer is small, but the game data is not; on iPhone the App Store lists the game at about 2.3 GB.
  • Up to date graphics drivers help with crashes and black screens, as with any game.
  • Test on a busy map. Big KvK fights are the heaviest moment for any device, so try a crowded area before relying on an old machine in a war.

Playing on Mac

On Mac there is no separate client. The App Store listing for Rise of Kingdoms says it requires macOS 11.0 or later and a Mac with an Apple M1 chip or later, and that it is designed for iPad. In practice that means the iPad version, installed from the Mac App Store on any Apple silicon Mac. The official site says the same: "You must be using a Mac with an Apple M1 chip." Intel Macs are not supported this way.

Mac players should still bind their account before switching devices, exactly like on Windows. The Mac version reads the same account data as the phone and the Windows client.

One account on phone and PC

Your progress lives on the server, not on the device. The same governor, kingdom, commanders and items show up on phone, PC and Mac once you log in with the same binding. Many players use the PC for long sessions and KvK, and the phone for quick checks, help and gathering marches during the day.

Lilith does not document whether one account can stay online on two devices at once. Community guides report that logging in on one device disconnects the other, so plan for one active session at a time and do not leave a march half managed on the phone when you switch.

Switching devices mid war is where most mistakes happen. Finish or recall marches, then switch, then check every march again on the new device.

Is PC better than mobile?

TaskPCPhone
KvK field fightsBetter: bigger view, precise clicksHarder with many marches
Alliance chat during fightsBetter: keyboard, chat visible while playingSlower typing
Quick gathering and helpFineBetter: always with you
Long build and research sessionsBetter: no battery drainBattery and heat
NotificationsWeakerBetter: push alerts for attacks

Most experienced players use both. KvK is where PC pays off; read the KvK guide for what to prepare, and the alliance guide for how rallies work.

Phone players have one thing PC players lack: push notifications. Turn them on for attacks and scouting alerts, then keep the phone near you even while playing on the computer.

Emulators and other ways to play

Before the official client, players ran the Android version in emulators such as BlueStacks, and BlueStacks still publishes many Rise of Kingdoms guides, including ones on running several accounts. We could not find an official Lilith statement on emulators. The official client avoids that question completely and is free, so it is the route we recommend. Farm accounts are covered in our farming guide.

Common problems and how to solve them

PC shows a new governor instead of yoursYou logged in with a different method than the one bound on your phone. Log out, check the binding on the phone and log in with that method.
Your login method is not offered on PCBind an additional login method on your phone first, then use it on PC.
The game crashes or shows a black screenUpdate your graphics drivers and restart the client.
The client will not updateDownload a fresh installer from rok.lilith.com.
Phone kicks you out while you play on PCExpected with one account on two devices. Close the game on the device you are not using.

If none of that helps, contact support from inside the game, where your account details are attached to the ticket automatically.

Keep your installer and the game up to date, and do not use third party tools that automate the game. Update 1.1.8 introduced a Conduct Score that penalises scripts and cheats, starting in Season of Conquest kingdoms, so automation is a real risk to your account.

Getting the most out of the big screen

  • Keep alliance chat open during wars. On PC you can follow calls while managing marches.
  • Use the wider view in KvK to watch several marches and the enemy at once.
  • Do your long admin sessions on PC: equipment, talents, research and alliance donations are faster with a mouse.
  • Keep the phone for alerts. Push notifications for attacks still arrive on your phone.

For what to do with all that screen space in a war, read the KvK guide.
