Rise of Kingdoms events calendar: what repeats and how to plan

Most of the value in Rise of Kingdoms flows through events. The same speedups, resources and gems give you two or three times the rewards when you spend them in the right event window, and nothing extra when you spend them on a random Tuesday. The trick is knowing what comes back and saving for it.

Lilith does not publish a long term event schedule; the in-game calendar shows the next few days only, and timing differs between kingdoms by age and season. What we can give you is how each event works, how often it usually repeats and what to save for it. For gem income, see the farming guide; for everything else, the Rise of Kingdoms hub.

Ark of Osiris is a 30 versus 30 battle between two alliances on a separate map. Teams fight for buildings and for the Ark itself, which they carry back to score. According to LDShop's Ark guide and RiseofKingdomsGuides:

  • Who can join: the alliance must be in the kingdom's top 20 and hold more than 10 flags; players need City Hall 16 or higher.
  • When: roughly every two weeks, with registration opening on Wednesday for three days under the rules introduced in 2024.
  • Rewards: Golden and Silver battlefields. A Golden win with 10,000+ personal points pays up to 2,500 gems plus legendary sculptures. Winners get 10 legendary sculptures and losers 5.
  • 2026 changes: battle replays and tier 5 equipment in Balanced Mode (1.1.8), and a God Chest mail pin (1.1.11).

Ark rewards are the best regular source of legendary sculptures for free players, so ask to be on the roster.

Ark of Osiris is also the event where your behaviour counts most. Leaders pick rosters from players who show up, follow the battle plan and do not waste the team's teleports. If you want a regular spot, be online on time and ask the leaders for your role before the match starts.

Mightiest Governor (MGE)

Mightiest Governor is the event where speedups and resources pay the most. It runs in six stages: training, barbarians, gathering, power, kills (24 hours each) and a 48 hour Final Sprint. Each stage scores a different activity, and ranking rewards include sculptures of the featured commander. Older guides describe five stages; the six stage format is the current one in the guides we checked.

  • Training stage: train troops and use training speedups.
  • Power stage: finish buildings and research you started earlier.
  • Kill stage: kill points by tier; a tier 5 kill is worth 20 points, tier 3 only 4.

Plan MGE around one or two stages you can win, not all six.

MGE also has a practical side: the top ranks are usually decided by a few big accounts. A free player rarely wins the event, but the stage rewards below the top ranks still pay well for things you were going to do anyway. Check the point rules for each stage before you spend.

More Than Gems (MTG)

More Than Gems rewards gem spending with extra prizes at set thresholds. It lasts about two days and shows up every two to three months. The rule is simple: save the gems you plan to spend anyway (VIP, Wheel of Fortune, Books of Covenant) and spend them inside the MTG window. You get the item you wanted plus MTG rewards such as sculptures. Thresholds vary; check the event page before spending.

Wheel of Fortune is the main way free players get a new legendary commander. Most guides agree on one rule: either spend enough to hit the guaranteed rewards, or only use the free and discounted spins. Random paid spins are where gems disappear.

Watch where the featured commander sits on the tier list before you spin. A Wheel for a gather-only or outdated commander is a reason to save, not to spend.

Anniversary Events, YSG Skin, KvK Changes and More Anniversary Events, YSG Skin, KvK Changes and More

Every update brings a seasonal event series. In 2026 that meant anniversary events in August (1.1.11), Halloween in September and October (1.1.12, including Esmeralda's events) and Thanksgiving in November (1.1.13). These series usually include a cosmetic such as a city theme, team draws and point events. They are good value when they pay resources and speedups for things you do anyway; skip the paid draws unless you want the cosmetic.

Seasonal series also come with team draws, where a group of players spins together for shared prizes. They can be good value with friends from your alliance, but only if the prize pool includes something you would actually use.

How to plan for events

  1. Never spend speedups outside an event. Training speedups belong to MGE training stages and power events, healing speedups to KvK.
  2. Hold gems for More Than Gems. Everything you would buy anyway pays twice there.
  3. Start long builds so they finish inside a power event.
  4. Keep action points for barbarian stages.
  5. Sign up for Ark of Osiris every time your alliance runs it. Even losses pay legendary sculptures.
  6. Check the calendar every login. It only shows a few days ahead, so a quick look stops you from wasting a stockpile the day before an event.

Event rewards feed directly into commanders and KvK. See the tier list for which commanders deserve those sculptures and the KvK guide for what to save.

What to save for which event

StockpileSpend it inWhy

Healing speedupsKvK and Ark of OsirisKeeps your troops fighting
GemsMore Than GemsThe same purchase pays extra rewards
Action pointsBarbarian stages, KvK honorPoints instead of plain XP
ResourcesGathering stages, KvKGathered resources score in events and feed healing

If you only remember one row, make it the first. Training speedups spent outside an event are the most common waste in the game.

The calendar inside the game is the source of truth. Check it every login, because event timing varies by kingdom and season.

Lyceum of Wisdom and daily mini events

Next to the big events, the Lyceum of Wisdom runs a daily quiz about history and the game, with gem rewards and a monthly final for the best players. It costs nothing but a few minutes. The same goes for daily login and activity rewards: none of them is big on its own, but together they are a large share of a free player's income. Our farming guide puts them into a daily routine.
